How to combine colors?

Colors are the ones that bring in our home comfort, harmony and coziness. To choose the right ones for your home can be a huge challenge, but that doesn’t mean to select just one color and use it. To make the right choice, you should know that there are warm and cold colours. The warm colors are suitable for social spaces such as living room, dining room and kitchen. While cold colors are calming and used for rooms like bedrooms and offices.

One of the most important steps in creating a stylish and complete look of your rooms is finding the right color combination. That's why we offer you a simple guide to help you in such situations.

White combines with everything, especially with the blue, red and black. Beige – combined with blue, Brown, Emerald, black, red, white. Gray – combined with Fuchsia, red, violet, pink, blue.

Complementary colors (also known as contrasting) are located opposite each other in the circle of Johannes Ethan. The combination of them creates a bright and energizing effect, especially when they are the most saturated.

Pink - combines with brown, white, mint green, olive-green, gray, turquoise, light blue. Fuchsia (dark pink) - combines with gray, yellow-brown, lemon, mint green, brown. Red - combines with yellow, white, yellow-brown, green, blue and black. Tomato red - combines with blue-green, mint green, sandy, cream-white and gray. Cherry red - combines with sky blue, light orange, sandy, pale yellow and beige. Malino-red - with white, black and daisy rays.

Scheme 1: complementary combination

The triad is a combination of three colors, which have equal standing in relation to each other in a circle. It provides a contrasting effect, but at the same time retains the "harmony". Such composition seems viable even when using pale and unsaturated colors.

Scheme 2: triad – combination of three colors

This is a combination of 2-5 (in the perfect case 2-3) colour, which are located next to each other in a circle. It creates a soothing and inviting impression. Here is an example of such a combination – yellow-orange, yellow, yellow-green, green, blue-green.

Olive-green - orange, light brown, brown. Green - golden brown, orange, salted, yellow, brown, gray, cream, black, cream white. Salted green - with brown, yellowish-brown, light beige, gray, dark blue, red, gray. Turquoise - with fuchsia, cherry-red, yellow, brown, cream, dark-violet. Electric colors - golden-yellow, brown, light brown, gray or silver. Blue-green - with red, gray, brown, orange, pink, white, yellow.

Scheme 3: Analogic combination

Variation of complementary color combinations. In this case, you get a basic color and two complementary (colors, which are located on the side of the Basic, but are located on the opposite side of the circle). The effect that is created here, is equally contrasting as and in the previous scheme. But is less intense. If you are not sure that is an infill scheme you like, use this.

Orange - with blue-green, blue, lilac, violet, white, black. Light-greenish - with gray, brown, olive-green. Dark orange - with pale yellow, olive-green, brown, cherry.

Scheme 4: Split Supplementary Combination

This is a plan/ scheme which includes one main and two complementary colors, plus one extra, which highlights the highlights. Example: blue-green, blue-purple, orange-red, orange-yellow.

Dark blue - with light blue, blue-green, yellowish-green, brown, gray, pale yellow, orange, green, red, white. Lyulyakovo - with orange, pink, dark violet, olive-green, gray, yellow, white. Black - universal color. It looks elegant in any combination, mostly with orange, pink, salad-green, white, red or yellow.

Scheme 5: combination of four colors

A combination of four colors that are at an equal distance from one another in the circle. In this case they differ from one another in their tone, but at the same time. This scheme creates a dynamic, vibrant and playful effect. Example: violet, orange-red, yellow, blue-green.

Yellow - with blue, lilac, light blue-green, violet, blue, black. Lemon yellow - with cherry-red, brown, blue, gray. Pale yellow - with fuchsia, gray, brown, shades of red, yellowish brown, blue, purple. Gold-yellow - with gray, brown, sky blue, black.
